Marketing is an essential part of Team 537 Charger Robotics, both behind the scenes and in the community. Marketing is the face of our team as their members often go out into the community to get sponsors, fundraise, and support our team. Marketing also organizes community demonstrations to promote FIRST® to the community.
Visuals of Team 537 are produced by the Marketing department. When Charger Robotics is present at any demonstration or competition, Marketing is responsible for setting up displays of what the team and FIRST® is all about. Whether it’s trophies from Team 537’s past accomplishments, or trifolds and posters about Team 537 and FIRST®. Marketing promotes Team 537 and FIRST® by giving away tattoos, beads, and business cards to spectators at competitions and demonstrations.
During competitions, Marketing members answer questions about our team and robot when asked by other teams, judges, or the general public. When our team is competing in a match, Spirit, a subset of Marketing, rallies the rest of our team to support our robot and drive team.
Outside of competitions, Marketing raises funds for supplies and travel expenses. In addition, Marketing collects prizes for the Wisconsin FIRST® Raffle, held by Team 537 annually, which has raised over $220,000 for all Wisconsin teams involved and is available for all Wisconsin teams to participate in. Team 537 also participates in charities such as Relay for Life, Adopt-a-Highway, Bleed for Bots, and the Can Do program.
Marketing does a lot of work with children of various ages to get them interested in science and engineering. This is accomplished by organizing demonstrations at community events like Summerfest, and more localized events such as the Sussex Lions Daze Parade, Piston and Rod Show, and the Pauline Haas Library Ice Cream Social.
